JOIN NESHTA!
Hi everyone! I just finished a jam-packed week-long "Designing and Delivering Effective Training" course in Indianapolis, Indiana. The training was sponsored by the National Environmental Safety and Health Training Association, better known as NESHTA. First let me say the training was excellent and helped me better understand the requirements of ANSI Z490.1-2001, Accepted Practices in Safety, Health, and Environmental Training. All those who attended the training also completed the exams required for the "Certified Environmental Safety & Health Trainer" (CET) certification.
As you may know, OSHA is now using its General Duty Clause to enforce the development and documentation of training programs as recommended in the ASSE/ANSI Z490.1-2001. NESHTA's companion publication, Accepted EHS Training Practices: an Implementation Guide for ASSE/ANSI Z490.1, provides references to the appropriate paragraphs of the standard.
I want to encourage all of you to visit the official NESHTA website to learn more about this organization. I would also recommend membership in this organization. I believe CET certification will become increasingly important for your career as a EHS professional.
Be an OSHAcademy Booster Don't forget to tell your friends about OSHAcademy and all the great resources. Good news! You can now purchase PDF versions of course certificates at greatly reduced prices. I've also reduced the pricing for all guides and audits!
