Our vision for safety and health is .....

In order to reach this vision we will implement the following objectives using a partnership approach with labor which involves front line workers through a variety of means to includes committees and task groups and individual empowerment. The responsible parties listed for each goal below will develop operational plans for the completion of the goal within the time period listed.

Objective 1: Build "buy-in" for the needed changes by building an alliance or partnership between management and union (the "hook"). Identify one key top management official and union official to champion the change and to hold their respective organizations accountable (union-management pair concept).

Objective 2: Initial training of Management-Supervisory staff, Union Leadership, and safety and health committee members, and a representative number of hourly employees. This may include both safety and health training and any needed management, team building, or communication training, etc.

Objective 3: Establish a steering committee comprised of management, union, and safety staff. The purpose of this group is to facilitate and support the change processes. This will provide overall guidance and direction and, avoid duplication of efforts.
