Instructor Biography - Steven Geigle, M.A., CET, CSHM

Here's Steve! Hi! Thanks for your interest in our training. I have earned a B.S. degree in general science and a M.A. in communications. More recently, I've earned two graduate-level certificates; Training and Development, and Managing the Training Function. I am a Certified Safety Health Manager (CSHM), awarded by the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM) and a Certified Environmental, Safety & Health Trainer (CET), awarded by the National Environmental, Safety and Health Training Association. And, of course, I'm a member of the National Safety Management Society and the American Society of Safety Engineers.

I have over 30 years experience as an educator in a wide range of subjects including occupational safety and health, organizational development, leadership, management, international relations, business, communications and strategic planning. I've also served the business community as a human resource manager, safety director, and training manager in both the private and public sectors.

For 16 years, I presented over a thousand traditional workshops for Northwest U.S. employers and employees as a senior safety education specialist and online training program manager with the Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (OR-OSHA).

The online training I developed for Oregon OSHA proved very popular, but there was no way to provide this instructor-dedicated interactive online education to the many non-Oregon residents who expressed an interest in participating. To fill the need, I partnered with the National Safety Management Society as their Director of Online Education to develop and provide free and low-cost internet-based online education to anyone, anytime, anywhere...from Boston to Borneo.

Most recently, in addition to my work with OSHAcademy, I was very busy working as the Manager of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Training for Vestas Americas, a business unit within Vestas Wind Systems, the world's largest manufacturer of Wind Turbines. Needless to say, I was very "high" on the work. ;-)

Now, OSHAcademy has become so popular that I've decided to devote all of my time to further development of OSHAcademy Safety Training Network.
