New Two-Wheel Birdstrike Avoidance System

We figured this creative fellow had seen one of the gruesome photos published in Approach, showing the results of a seagull smashing through an aircraft canopy. He didn’t want that to happen to him, and grew distrustful of his helmet visor. Thus, he added a little extra protection.
But no, that wasn’t it at all. This incident was well-publicized in Australia last February, and forwarded by one of our valuable correspondents down under. Seems this fellow had picked up the grill from a trash collection site, so it was more of a spontaneous brainstorm than a planned shopping trip. Not that that’s any excuse.
He told reporters that he had also once ferried a couch on his motorcycle.
