And While We’re at It, It Isn’t a Seat Either
 |
Last week we kicked the good old Not-a-Step can down the road a little. Seems that there is an unlimited supply of step-ladder users who just can’t resist trying to eke out another few inches of elevation.
For the record, using the tip-top of the step ladder as a seat doesn’t solve the problem. It is a little more comfy and stable, but you’d be hard put to find that technique in the precautions listed on the side of the ladder.
Ladders are great tools. However, they can let you down, and if they do, it will almost always be your own fault.
This just in from a correspondent (a retired Navy chief): “If I'm not mistaken, isn't the 'Exit' sign lighted? Strikes me that he might just be in for an 'exit' of his own…From back in the days when I was active, I seem to remember something about not working on energized equipment.”
