I don’t operate forklifts, never have, probably never will. Not that I have anything against them. They are a great invention, versatile, agile and strong. But in spite of my lack of first-hand experience, I do know one thing: this ain’t right.
Once in a while, a load is too heavy. And the solution isn’t to just call for a 200-pound coworker who doesn’t have anything better to do than participate in a leverage experiment.
Oh, you can get away with it once in a while, but one thing tends to lead to another, and these amateur forklift operators will eventually tip over and dump a load. And that will no doubt counterbalance all of the time they “saved” by not doing it right every time.
