NLM Toxicology Tutors

Toxicology Tutor I is the first in a set of three tutorials on toxicology produced by the Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program of the National Library of Medicine, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It covers Basic Principles of toxicology and is written at the introductory college student level. The Toxicology Tutors are intended to provide a basic understanding of toxicology as an aide for users of toxicology literature contained in the National Library of Medicine's Chemical and Toxicological databases.

Toxicology Tutor II is the second of three toxicology tutorials being produced by the Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program of the National Library of Medicine, U.S. Department of Health and Human Servicess. Toxicology Tutor I covered basic principles of toxicology while Toxicology Tutor II presents toxicokinetics. These tutors are written at the introductory college student level. They are intended to provide a better understanding of the toxicology literature contained in the National Library of Medicine's Chemical and Toxicological databases.

Cellular Toxicology is the third tutorial on toxicology produced by the Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program of the National Library of Medicine, U.S. Department of Health and Human Servicess. This tutorial covers the basic toxic mechanisms that operate at the cell level which includes those that interfere with normal biochemical functions. While the study of cells and biochemicals is immensely complex, our intent is to present this subject in terms and concepts that is understandable to introductory college students. These Toxicology Tutorials are intended to help students understand the toxicology literature contained in the National Library of Medicine's Chemical and Toxicological databases.

ToxLearn is a joing project of the U.S. National Library of Medicine's (NLM) Toxicology and Environmental Health Information Program and the U.S. Society of Toxicology (SOT). This training creates and makes publicly accessible on the web, and free of charge, an extensive selection of databases and other information recourses. TaxLearn is a two-module learning tool highlighting some elemental features of toxicology and designed to provide a background for further study in the field. It does not require any prerequisite knowledge beyond a basic understanding of biology and chemistry.
