Professional Certifications and Organizations

Board of Certificated Safety Professionals (BCSP)

The BCSP is a peer certification board. BCSP is recognized as a leader in high quality credentialing in the Safety and Health field. BCSP offers a variety of certifications including Certified Safety Professional, Safety Trained Supervisor, Construction Health and Safety Technician and many more.

Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM)

The ISHM is a voluntary professional credentialing organization. ISHM offers three different certifications, Certified Safety Management Practitioner, Associate Safety and Health Manager, and Certificated Safety and Health Manager.

American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE)

The ASSE is a global association of OSH Professionals. They have more than 35,000 members worldwide. Joining ASEE has many benefits, including large networking potential and professional development opportunities.

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

IOSH is the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals in the world.

We were founded in 1945 and have been registered as a charity since 1962. In 2002 we were awarded a Royal Charter.

As the largest health and safety membership organisation in the world, IOSH has more than 44,000 individual members in over 100 countries.

National Safety Management Society (NSMS)

The NSMS is a membership society who believes safety is an integral part of every employee and manager's responsibilities. The organization seeks to enhance the safety management profession.

World Safety Organization (WSO)

The WSO is a membership organization who strives to promote continuous professional development for Safety and Health practitioners. The WSO also supports activities of other professional organizations and helps coordinate functions.


OSH Forums

Health and Safety for Beginners

An Occupational Safety and Health Forum that allows users to discuss a number of safety and health topics with other professionals.

Health and Safety Report

The Health and Safety Report is published by the Canadian Center for Occupational Health and Safety. The Health and Safety Report contains news, tips and advice, and helpful information to help you make informed decisions.
