"First and foremost, let me start by saying once you know the truth, it will set you free. I must accept the fact that OSHAcademy has made me step up to another level on the way I view safety. I work with machines and I am always careful. After taking OSHAcademy courses, I now understand why we do things the way we do. For example, I knew machine guarding was meant to provide protection. At times, other engineers could disconnect the guard from gliders and circular cutters, but now I am so keen in that area.
When an injury occurs, nursing wounds and handling blood stains is now another way to prevent pathogenic contamination. Lockout/Tag out is a must! Securing the keys, and in some cases double locking the padlock, is important. It is also important to enter the time and date when jobs were finished. I also now know the difference between the use of hard hat for electrical and general work where previously only a hard hat was used."
