Concrete Industry Safety

Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials in the world. Safety issues exist in all phases of concrete production, including the manufacture of portland cement and pre-cast concrete products, as well as during the use of concrete in construction.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Industry, 4.9 out of 100 full-time workers in the cement and concrete product manufacturing sector were injured in 2021. 3.9 out of 100 full-time workers in the poured concrete foundation and structure sector were injured in 2021. Some of the potential hazards are:

  • Amputations
  • Permit-required confined spaces
  • Crushing
  • Falls
  • Electrocution
  • Vehicle Accidents

OSHAcademy recognizes the critical importance of maintaining a safe working environment for those in the concrete industry. Our comprehensive training programs are carefully designed to address the hazards concrete workers are regularly exposed to.
